February in Launceston kicks off with the famous Festivale in the heart of the city, a food and drink mecca for locals and tourists alike! Highlighting some of the best produce, wine, gin, whisky, cider and beer made on the island, along with a lineup of entertainment for all the family to enjoy. Launceston will also play host to the infamous comedian Jimmy Carr, tennis matches spanning across 9 days, the Launceston Cup Carnival and live music at the The Royal Oak Hotel, an eclectic mix for everyone to enjoy across the month.
Festivale
Fri 2nd Februray 2018 to Sun 4th Februray 2018City Park, Launceston, Tasmania

Festivale is the largest annual festival in Northern Tasmania that showcases the unique and wonderful produce, cool climate wines, spirits, beers and ciders grown and produced on the island. Running for more than 30 years, Festivale 2018 welcomes back many previous stallholders as well as introducing a few new highlights, some of which are offering share platters – making the communal eating and drinking all the more enticing.
There will be live comedy in the evenings by Fresh Comedy (8 performers in total) on the KPMG stage, starting at 8:15pm. Check out the link below to see the full line up of acts. There will also be street performers, children’s activities, food and beverage masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and a ripper of a musical lineup, including the headline acts: Friday night Clare Bowditch; Saturday night The Choir Boys and Sunday Renee Geyer followed by Deborah Conway accompanied by Willy Zygier.

This is the premier tennis event for Northern Tasmania and not to be missed! As part of the Australian Pro Tour the Smartfibre Launceston International attracts over 100 players from across Australia and abroad, many of which have just played at the Australian Open. It would not be an Australian summer if it did not involve sport for all the family.

The 2018 Sky Racing Launceston Cup Day
