Spring in Tasmania has Launceston blooming! Hosting a wide array of events - from an eclectic mix of singers and musicians to entertain, the talented Russian Ballet are in town, the annual Fiesta On George will be happening and the Australian Masters Games with 5,000 participants will take place!

Virtuosi are a talented array of musicians, some of them hailing from the well renown Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO), along with other fine Tasmanian musicians and members of the mainland orchestras. They aim to perform over 16 concerts a year in unusual and unexpected places throughout Tasmania; including heritage homes, shearing sheds, galleries, a court house and even a cave! Kim Churchill - Weight Falls Tour

The new album is out and the Australian tour is underway! There is one show only in Launceston, so don't miss the chance to hear Kim bellow out his beautiful tunes. He is a talented man with a voice and guitar skill beyond his youthful years.
For those that are familiar with Kim Churchill from his radio hit 'Window To The Sky' that reached no 42 in Triple J's Hottest 100 in 2014, a recognisable familiarity will be present alongside some surprise elements as he shares the new album Weight Falls.

Ashkar & Beethoven with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

Beethoven is a name in history synonymous to great music, Ashkar may well follow in the same footsteps. Making his New York Carnegie Hall debut at age 22, he has since gone on to work with the leaders in the industry, including the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Orchestra St Petersburg among others throughout the world.
Originally from Israel, Saleem Ashkar is a dedicated recitalist and chamber musician, dedicating his present focus on classical compositions by Beethoven. Travelling extensively with this particular work, it will be an honour to have him perform in Launceston for a one and only show at the iconic Albert Hall with our own very talented and well respected - Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

A Festival of Russian Ballet

The Imperial Russian Ballet Company return to Australia after sell out shows of 'The Nutcracker' and 'Swan Lake', this time to share with us a snippet of the world's most famous ballets (45 minutes) and Don Quixote (1 hour) and Blero (1 hour), including an interval to break up the evening to refresh.
This particular performance has been showed extensively around the world, with a cast of 40 elite dancers and support staff this is a night not to be missed!

Fiesta on George

Fiesta On George has become an iconic event held each Spring in Launceston, Tasmania brought to life by Cityprom and all the retailers, eateries and the like along George Street. The street is sectioned off allowing for foot traffic to fill the area alongside street performers and musicians entertaining the many patrons, as well as retailers to share their wares outdoors and food vans to set up shop for the fun, one day festival.

This year celebrates the Australian Masters Games 16th birthday! The Games will actually conclude on the 28th October, however we have made a focus on the events held just in Launceston to give you a glimpse of what is in town during that time. The events held further afield across North West Tasmania can be found via the link below.
This biannual event is regarded as one of the largest sporting events in the Australia sporting industry, with an estimate of over 6,000 participants competing (with registration still open as we write) across 40 different sports.

Tin Cup Country presents this Golden Guitar and Aria winner for an afternoon of entertainment! Fanny Lumsden is celebrating the release of her new album by sharing her alternative county music tunes in the heart of the city for one show only.
Chris Familton is quoted as describing Lumsden as "a born entertainer, with a voice that sings between pop, soul and country and by surrounding herself by fine musicians (The Thrillseekers), she's never failed to leave an imprint on an audience by way of personality and performance".
