Music lovers will be in for a treat during October in Launceston, Tasmania. There is a line up of great talent from several genres to suit - the Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival 2018 is back again after a roaring success last year for their debut; Fiesta on George is back and much more!

The beautiful Cataract Gorge Reserve, often simply referred to as 'The Gorge' by locals, is the lungs of this beautiful city. The breath taking natural beauty is home to flora and fauna that is unique to Tasmania and offers a wealth of information to any enthusiastic gardener or botanist to learn about.
Roy and Louise will be conducting this years annual Spring walk. Starting at The Stone Shelter, at the First Basin, close to the cafe. They will share handouts for identifying Gorge endemic and native plants, plus where to source them for your own home garden. The walk and talk session will take approximately two hours. Wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing for the light walk.

If a chamber orchestra set in an iconic art gallery brings music to your ears, then this event will be for you!
Formed by baroque violinist and artistic director, Julia Fredersdorff in 2016, Van Diemen's Band is a flexible ensemble bringing life back into the beautiful music from the 17th and 18th centuries. Their success has been wide spread and growing rapidly due to there regular performances and highly skilled musicians.
This special event will have two guests joining them - international soloists, cellist Catherine Jones (Australia/Italy) and Baroque guitarist William Carter (UK), for a program of Italian music composed during the Spanish Occupation. Concertos by Vivaldi, Fiorenza, arrangements by Neapolitan folk tunes by Gaspar Sanz and the wonderful Fandango quintet by Boccherini.

Street party anyone? Fiesta on George is back! The 2018 event will once again bring everyone into the heart of Launceston city to celebrate with great food, drinks and entertainment.

Tickets sell out fast with this very popular Tassie Festival. Well, it did last year in 2017, the year of debut, and 2018 is looking to be in much the same fashion.
This uniquely Northern Tasmanian event is held in the historical Georgian town called Evandale, just 20 km South of Launceston.
The festival will play host to five events in total across 3 days, starting Friday evening, 26th October and concluding on Sunday, 28th October with 'Bach in the Barns - Umberto Clerici (cello), Emma McGrath (violin), and Erin Helyard (harpsicord)'.
